Our Mission

Refreshed and Refocused

The BCSI has taken the opportunity this year to refresh its brand. This process has been so much more than modernising our logo and brand colours. We have been working to refocus the mindset of our internal stakeholders and recommit to the core of our purpose: serving our members. We aim to renew our relationship with our members, work together to meet their needs, source opportunities for growth and ultimately, move the services sector forward.

Expo 2020 Dubai

The BCSI will be representing its members as a part of the Barbados team at Expo 2020 Dubai, running from October 2021 to March 2022. Our Branding and Communications Consultant will be on the ground in Dubai in October and November to forge connections that will benefit our members and promote them through our website.

The Exporter Magazine

Issue 9 of The Exporter Magazine is out NOW! The theme “Economic Resilience and SIDS” will be explored. Our latest edition features articles from Barbadian Prime Minister Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, Q.C., M.P., former acting UNCTAD Secretary-General Isabel Durant, Barbados’ Ambassador to the UAE Gabriel Abed and more.

Firefly

The BCSI curated a special virtual Firefly Cultural Exhibit for the 2021 Global Services Forum, aired on Sep 22, 2021 . The thirty-minute presentation features a cast comprised of primarily former Firefly participants who have continued to hone their craft and would be deemed export-ready. View the showcase here (add a link to the show) Firefly has gone digital!  For the first time, our annual Firefly Showcase will be premiered as a series of episodes featuring emerging artists across Music, Art, and Fashion. View our emerging cohort here this November

UNCTAD XV

Barbados was the proud host of the UNCTAD XV conference running from October 3-7, 2021. The BCSI had a virtual booth in the exhibition hall with links to represent interested members. The Firefly Cultural Exhibit was also premiered for a second time during the conference
